Roof Soft Washing in Western MA & Northern CT
Those black streaks on your roof are not dirt. They are algae eating the limestone in your shingles. Left alone they spread, hold moisture, and shorten the life of the roof you already paid for.
Sound Familiar?
- Black streaks running down the shingles
- Green moss packed along the north side and valleys
- Lichen digging into the granules
- Neighbors' roofs look clean and yours does not
I soft wash roofs the way shingle manufacturers ask for it. Low pressure, the right cleaning solution, and a rinse that kills the growth at the root instead of blasting granules off your roof.

Roof Soft Washing Questions
Will soft washing hurt my shingles?
No. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution. Pressure washing a roof is what strips granules and voids warranties. That is not what I do.
How long does it stay clean?
Most roofs stay clear for several years depending on tree cover and shade. Heavy shade means it comes back faster.
Do you need to get on the roof?
Usually not. Most roofs are cleaned from a ladder or the ground so there is less traffic on your shingles.
